A Gospel Baby-Giant Is Born In Amsterdam

Yet again, we have another maxi Gospel release from a resident of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Every season comes with a new sensation in the Ghanaian music industry, but this time we can confidently say that Joyce Yeboah is the female artiste to talk about this time around.

Joyce a mother of two and a wife to Mr. Rocky Ameyaw who doubles as the financial Producer of the Album, is a native of Nkoranzah in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana, will probably be one of the very few from that region to become successful in the gospel music industry.

Her maiden Album, OHENE BI ASHE ME NSO, which was released on the September 4, 2004 evening at a very impressive launching ceremony at the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministry in Amsterdam, was very well attended. The nature of the launch, in no doubt proved to be a prelude to the anticipated success of the Album.

Launching of album begun with Joyce performing track 8 ?Ore de mayen? which she used as an intro and an opening prayer. Ore de mayen a worship song was the appropriate song, which she took the opportunity in giving thanks to the Lord and also glorifying the Lord before the commencement of the program for that evening.

The congregation was surprised at the very professional way she did it and they really wondered if indeed she was really a beginner.

They could not hold on any longer but had to sing happily along in a hilarious frenzy manner when she started to do the title track 3 -OHENE BI ASHE ME NSO- This captivating statement beautifully composed into an upbeat Gospel highlife was in no doubt a hit which filled the auditorium with joy and happiness to the very immense appreciated gospel music fans.

The Album itself is a mixture of highlife, Reggae, Soukous, and contemporary Ghanaian pop tunes.

According to Joyce, says she has a passion for worshipping and praising God and there is no better way of doing it than to sing in the Twi language which she controls very well and with a rhythm she grew up with, the famous Highlife from Ghana.

The Album was recorded and mixed in Amsterdam city. The City has indeed given birth to a great number of Ghanaian gospel artists including, Owusu Myers, Esther Amoako, Evelyn Bamfo, Kweku Amonoo?Neizer, Ed Romeo, Afua Asantewaa, Hager Mends, Sammy Boafo. Amsterdam is also recently the residence of other top artists like Daughters of glorious Jesus, Gici Sisters, Juliana Acheampong, Grace Gartey and Emilia Aning and many more.

Joyce in no doubt is the latest Amsterdam product and her mission is to reach every corner of the world and to glorify the lord through music. The humility and the respectable attitude of this newborn gospel baby-giant will surely sustain her for a very long time in the Ghanaian Gospel Music industry.
