Mankranso (Ash), Nov. 25, GNA - Mr Ernest Opoku, Ahafo-Ano South District Electoral Officer, has stated that it was the responsibility of all Ghanaians to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections. Addressing an Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting at Mankranso on Wednesday on the need for incident-free elections, he said the success of the elections would depend upon the collective contributions of all.
He, therefore, called on the political parties, civil society organisations and individuals to resolve and to help to make the elections incident-free.
Representatives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP), Police, Chiefs and Media attended the meeting. Mr Opoku said seminars would be held for the electoral officers and party agents and, therefore, stressed the need for the parties to screen their polling agents properly to ensure total confidence in them before sending them to the seminars.
He urged all voters to comport themselves on the election day and asked the political parties to provide their agents with accreditation for easy identification.
