Calm returns to NPP HQ as police withdraw personnel

The Police have withdrawn all personnel detailed to provide security at the national headquarters of the troubled opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Starr News has learnt.

Scores of officers were dispatched to the head office of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition which has been bedeviled with internal confusion in recent times.

The latest is the killing of the party’s upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama which has been blamed on its national chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

Following the incident, a group of youth supporters of the party nick named ‘Invisible’ ‘banned’ the two embattled executives from coming to the party’s national headquarters at Asylum Down.

However, after a truce call by its flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo last Friday, the ‘Invisible’ have paved way making a continuous Police presence there unnecessary.

A police source has also confirmed to Starr News that all personnel have been recalled to their various depots.
