NDC Congress: Aggrieved MP withdraws case

The upcoming congress of the ruling National Democratic Congress scheduled for Saturday December 20 in Kumasi will go ahead as planned.

This follows the withdrawal of the motion that sought to put an interlocutory injunction on the congress by the NDC MP for Afram Plains North, Emmanuel Aboague Didieye.

The aggrieved MP went to court after he claimed he was disqualified from taking part in the NDC congress.

Counsel for the plaintiff, Lawyer Balado Manu, told the court his client has withdrawn the case without liberty to apply.

“My client arrived at the decision following advice from some party members that there is no need to go ahead with the motion filed,” he told the court.

The case was subsequently withdrawn by the presiding judge, Justice Anthony Oppong.

Tv3's Correspondent reports that the court did not award any cost in proceedings.

Executives of the party have assured all is set for the congress at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
