Brong-Ahafo NDC organizers forum elects officers

The Brong-Ahafo Constituency Organizers Forum of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday elected new executives to steer the affairs of the group.

Mr Kwasi Lampo, Sunyani East Constituency Organizer was elected as the new Regional Chair, while Mr Casimir Bazigha, Sunyani West Constituency Organizer took the post of Secretary, with Mr Benjamin Yeboah of Techiman North as the Organizer of the Forum.

Three other members also elected to serve on the executive by acclamation were Messrs Dominic Kofi Bawuah and Emmanuel Danso Duah, Porter and Assistant Porter respectively, and Alhaji Haruna, as Chaplain.

Mr. Lampo, in an acceptance speech, advised candidates vying for positions in the impending Regional elections of the party, to go about their campaigns without insults and provocative language against fellow contestants.

This, he said, was because “We are one family contesting for a common cause of ultimate victory in election 2016, so if we destroy ourselves, we only divide, and not unite our front, that would be detrimental to the general interest of the party”.

Mr Lampo indicated some of the candidates nation-wide claimed that they had the support of the President John Dramani Mahama and his wife Lordina Mahama, pointing out that, that was a wrong approach in their campaign efforts.

He explained that “It is only a divisive tendency since the President as the leader of the Party now is the final arbiter who would arbitrate in case of any misunderstanding within the party."

Mr Peter Owusu, Asutifi North Constituency Organizer, implored the Executives to concentrate on their respective core duties to avoid usurping each other’s powers, saying that usually ended up in conflict among themselves.

Consequently, such a situation rendered the executives ineffective and the entire forum dormant, he said, and expressed the fear that it might affect the fortunes of the Party, especially in election 2016
