Akufo-Addo tells Black Stars to go for goals against Germany

Two-time Presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, believes despite the Black Stars painful defeat to the United States of America [USA], the team is capable of qualifying to the round of 16 in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

According to him, the team together with their coach, Kwesi Appiah, must put behind the conquest and ponder on their next group clash against Germany.

He also expressed delight in the Stars style of play though that did not fetch them the results needed.

The Black Stars lost 1-2 to the USA in their World Cup opener on Monday but are hoping to clinch their first three points when they clash with the Germans who already trashed Portugal by 4-0 in Group G.

The NPP Presidential hopeful and Black Stars die-hard fan, Nana Addo counseled that the Stars must face the Germans come Saturday with the can do spirit.

He however urged them to go for goals which can secure their qualification to the next stage of the tournament.

“We lost to the USA on Monday but we are proud and encouraged by the performance of our boys. Winners are not those who never fail, but those who never quit.

“… Let us face the Germans with the belief that we are winners, and we can win. Go for goals on Saturday! God bless you Kwesi Appiah, and the team!” he posted on his Facebook wall”.
