‘Let’s discuss and find solutions to common problems’

Stephen Ashitey Adjei, aspiring assemblyman for the Dade-Agbo electoral area in the Tema East District, has called for the active participation of the electorate in the area in finding solutions to their common problems.

Addressing a mammoth rally at Tankasi line, Tema New Town, Mr Ashitey Adjei said solutions to the problems of society did not lie in an individual’s head, but “when we all accept to think along the path of development, we will see that the solutions are in fact closer than we think.”

He assured the people that he would provide the platform for all and sundry to contribute meaningfully to the development of the area.

He said the area was deprived and had challenges such as poor sanitation, low school enrolment, early child bearing and high unemployment rate, but said “these are challenges, but they can be handled if we decide to tackle them.”

“I will put at your disposal my rich experience in public life and open door policy, to unite all for the task ahead.”

He also asked them to eschew ethnic-based politics and stereotypes, since the area could only develop if all cultures and historical experiences were harnessed.

“Anywhere you come from is unique. Various ethnic groupings have found a unique way of solving their problems and the very fact that they are not extinct show that they have survived their problems. We need all ideas, cultures, and in fact, all people of Dada-Agbo, to make it a place called home for everyone.”
