A member of the Economic Management Committee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Samuel Kofi Ampah says Ghanaians would prefer Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom as choice of president in the upcoming general elections.

The PPP was the first political party to launch its manifesto in the build-up to the presidential and parliamentary elections in December.

The founder and standard bearer of the party, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has indicated that as part of his economic action plans in ensuring that Ghana’s economy is back on track, he shall immediately cut tax by 50% in order to lessen pressure on businesses.

Speaking on 3FM’s Sunrise on Monday, Mr Ampah stated that Dr. Nduom is preferred by Ghanaians but does not have the backing of the people to pull it off during the elections.

In this election, there are three key candidates viz His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum vying for position of the President.

Many Ghanaians believe out of these three candidates, Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum is the best candidate for this country but he doesn’t have the voters.

Out of the three, he stands out to be the best but what other people are saying is that a vote for the PPP is a wasted vote.

He slammed the media for not giving PPP enough platforms to outline their manifesto.

“The media for example is part of this problem….Talk about the manifesto of the PPP as we were the first to release ours in the country.”
