Four people have so far picked nomination forms to contest the NDC Jomoro Constituency Parliamentary primaries.

They are Mr Thomas Elleam Nyankey from Nawulley, Mr Leo Kofi Amenlemah Armah, from Jewi, Mr Samuel Nda Blay Armah, from Kegen and Francis Kwaidoo Ackatia from Ekpu.

Mr James Beliah Benson, Jomoro Constituency Secretary of the Party, who made this known to the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini, on Friday, could not give more information about the candidates.

According to him detailed information on the candidates would be known after submitting their forms.

He said the candidates came for the forms with their supporters, adding that, this is the first time in the history of the party that a large number of people have expressed interest in contesting the primaries in the Constituency.

Mr Benson said the number could increase because nominations will close on September 10.

According to him, Mr Nyankey was the first person to collect the form at about 10.00 hours before the others followed.

Addressing a large number of party supporters later at the Famieh Beach Resort, at Half-Assini, Mr Nyankey urged them to remain committed to the Party to win the 2016 general elections.

He said if he becomes the Member of Parliament, he will create jobs in the area to employ the youth.

Mr Nyankey, 42, lost to the incumbent MP, Wing Commander (retied) Francis Kabenlah Anaman in the 2012 primaries of the party.

Meanwhile, Wing Commander Anaman is yet to declare his intention to contest the 2016 primaries of the party.
