Ezenator must cut off Rawlings to win Korle Klottey seat – Ephson

Ben Ephson Ben Ephson

Pollster Ben Ephson has advised NDC parliamentary aspirant Dr. Ezenator Rawlings to exclude her father from her campaign if she is determined to win the Korle Klottey seat.

The daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings has declared her intentions to contest in the November 7 primaries of the ruling party.

She is expected to beat the incumbent MP, Nii Armah Ashietey in the primaries to keep her hopes of annexing the seat.

Speaking to Kafui Dey on Morning Starr Thursday, the Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper said although Ezenator can easily win the primaries with her father’s support, it will be politically unwise to use her father in the general elections.

“She has a good chance of winning the seat if she wins the primaries. But she must not involve her father too much; for the simple reason that there are certain NDC members whose families suffered under the June 4 and 31st December issues.

“On her own, she can campaign and win. If she involves her father, she is likely to suffer reactions from her father’s past,” Ephson noted.
