CAL Bank loss forces index down

Accra, Feb. 9, GNA - An 88-cedi loss by CAL Bank in trading on Thursday saw the main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) slip in another quiet trading.

The equity, which was the only one that made a movement, ended trading at 1,600 cedis.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main index, went down by 5.16 points to 4,731.17 points from 4,736.33 points while change for the year went down to -0.79 per cent from -0.69 per cent. Market capitalisation moved down to 91,757.10 billion cedis from 91,770.75 billion cedis on Wednesday.

Total shares traded went down to 42,000 from 4.849 million shares recorded on Wednesday.
