GCB sees huge sale, but main index barely changes

Accra, Feb. 8, GNA - Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) saw a huge sale of its share in trading on the Accra bourse on Wednesday, but it made no price change and the main stock index barely moved.

Blue chip GCB sold 4.849 million shares out of the 4.883 million shares that changed hands, but the main index went up by only 0.08 points to 4,736.33 points and change for the year remained flat at -0.69 per cent.

Market capitalisation moved up to 91,770.75 billion cedis from 91,770.54 billion cedis on Tuesday.

On the broader market, there were two price changes, both positive. Aluworks Limited went up by one cedi at 5,701 cedis while Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited also gained one cedi at 8,401 cedis.
