Market index rises in quiet trading

Accra, Jan. 13, GNA - The Accra bourse shrugged off its recent losses with a gain buoyed by an impressive performance of Aluworks. The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, rose by 7.32 points to 4,708.33 points from 4,701.01 points.

Change in the year-to-date was also better at -1.27 per cent from Thursday's close of -1.43 per cent.

Market capitalisation was better at 91,696.61 billion cedis from 91,677.24 billion cedis.

Shares traded jumped up to 121,800 from 38,500 on Thursday.
