Bourse slumps again

Accra, April 8, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) slumped again in trading on Friday after a slight recovery on Wednesday, this time dragged down by a Ghana Commercial Bank's (GCB) loss.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, plummeted by 30.83 points at 6,358.62 points and change for the year was down at -6.47 per cent.

Shares traded, however, went up to 354,200 from the 214,700 shares that changed hands during Wednesday's trading.

GCB was the sole equity that saw a price change, a 510-cedi loss at 12,500 cedis.

Market capitalisation was poorer at 96,404.70 billion cedis from Wednesday's 96,488.85 billion cedis from 3,663.51 million issued shares.
