Interplast donates to Sam Jonah Endowment Fund

Accra, July 30, GNA - Interplast Company, producers of pipes and profiles, on Friday donated 50 million cedis to the Sam Jonah Endowment Fund for the University of Cape Coast.

Mr Hayssam Fakhry, Managing Director of Interplast, said it showed his Company's commitment to support education because industries benefited from the products of universities.

A statement issued in Accra said Nana Prah Agyensiam VI, Chief of Assin Kushea, who is the Chairman of the Endowment Fund, thanked Interplast for the donation.

The Endowment Fund was set up by Dr Sam Jonah, President of AngloGold Ashanti and Chancellor of the University to improve upon its existing facilities.

A number of organizations including Taysec, Ecobank and SG-SSB have contributed to the fund, which now stands at 4.65 billion cedis.
