Nungua places ban on noise-making

Wor Konor Nuumo Borketey Larweh Tsuru, Gborbu and Shitse of the Ga-Dangbe State, has performed rites to usher in the annual Kplejo Festival of the chiefs and people of the Nungua Traditional Area.

The rites, “Dudomlinuwoo” literally meaning 'filling pots with water,' has necessitated the ban on noise-making, and “Nmaadumo,” that is, the planting of millet in the traditional area.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Wor Konor Nuumo Tsuru said the custom was to fill three pots with natural water for three consecutive weeks.

The pots of water are used in various sacred millet gardens in the Ga State and it is only undertaken by the traditional wife of the Gborbu Wulomo,” he explained.

Wor Konor Nuumo Larweh asked the people to use the festive season to pray for the peace and stability of the nation.
