Jomoro Assembly exceeds IGF for 2014

The Jomoro District Assembly in the Western Region has exceeded its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) for 2014 by over 20 per cent as at October 2014.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Sylvester Daddieh, made this known at the Assembly meeting at Half Assini.

He said the Assembly proposed a total of 492,225.80 Ghana Cedis for the year 2014, but realised 694,866.16 Ghana Cedis as revenue as at October this year.

According to Mr Daddieh, the achievement followed the establishment of the District Revenue Task force assisted by the security officers.

The DCE said the Assembly had now intensified its revenue generation and expressed the hope to generate enough revenue to finance more development projects.

He stated that the Assembly had received the first quarter of the 2014 District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) of 241,358.66 Ghana Cedis from the government.

He said it had also received a total of 59,663.37 Ghana Cedis, being last two quarters allocation of the 2013 Common Fund.

The Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr George Amenlemah-Morkeh, in a welcome address urged members to educate the electorates on the need to honour their tax obligations for the Assembly to generate more funds for projects.
