Breman Asikuma SHS appeals for expansion of structures

The authorities of Breman Asikuma Senior High School have appealed to stakeholders in education and philanthropists to help them construct an 18-classroom block to accommodate first-year students.

This, they said, would help to reduce congestion at the dormitories.

Madam Sabina S. Forson, headmistress of the School, made the appeal at the 50th Anniversary Speech and Prize Giving Day at Breman Asikuma.

The Anniversary is on the theme: “Fifty Years of Academic Excellence: A Proud Tradition”.

Madam Forson explained that the increasing number of first-year students posted to the school annually required the expansion of structures such as classrooms and dormitories for effective academic work.

The headmistress also mentioned inadequate accommodation for teachers, lack of an assembly hall, bad road network and failure to pay school fees as other challenges facing the school.

The headmistress stated that only eight teachers lived on the campus, thus making supervision and monitoring very difficult.

She, therefore, appealed to the GETFund Administration to complete a building it started in the school to accommodate some staff but had been abandoned.

On Security, she said the school was exposed to all manner of infiltrations and called for the fencing of the school.

Mr. Jacob A. M. Kor, Central Regional Director of Education, in a speech read for him, urged the students to be disciplined and take their studies seriously to enable them to pass their examinations.

The Regional Director encouraged the teachers to be industrious with their teaching in order to help the students to attain the desired academic excellence.

More than 20 students and staff who excelled were given prize awards for their performances.
