Show NDC the exit in 2016, Akufo-Addo urges Ghanaians

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to unite and vote out the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, come December 2016, for placing “needless untold hardships on Ghanaians.”

He said when a government is elected and fails to improve the lot of the citizenry, but rather succeeds in worsening their plight, those same citizens can peacefully, through the ballot box, remove that government and replace it with a more competent one.

“That is why I am appealing to Ghanaians. In 2016, let us speak with one unequivocal voice so that the unbearable hardships, poverty, rising levels of unemployment, rising cost of business, which is damaging businessmen, traders and farmers will come to an end. Ghanaians should retrace their steps and vote in an NPP government under the competent leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo,” he said.

Nana Akufo-Addo said this when he addressed over 1,800 from the Jomoro, Evalue Gwira and Ellembelle constituencies in the Western Region on Tuesday, October 14, as part of his campaign tour of the Western Region.

He assured Ghanaians that the aim of an NPP government will be to turn around the fortunes of the nation, and better the lot of the people.

“I want to assure the youth of this country that it is not true that God put us on this land to be poor. It is simply not true. It is bad governance and corruption that had brought us this far,” Nana Akufo-Addo said.

Nana Akufo-Addo re-assured the delegates and Ghanaians that, contrary to speculations both within and outside the NPP, he was fit, strong and ready for the task ahead, should the party on October 18, and Ghanaians, in December 2016, repose confidence in him and vote for him as President.

“In neighbouring Cote d’Ivoire, President Alassane Ouattara, who is two years older than me, is making significant strides in ensuring that the lives of Ivorians are made better.

They are moving forward, whilst Ghana retrogresses. I am appealing to Ghanaians to give me the opportunity to do better like what is currently going on in Cote d’Ivoire,” Nana Akufo-Addo said.

The two-time presidential candidate of the NPP emphasized the fact that “I did not come to politics to enrich myself or enrich my family. I came into politics to help my country with the strength and intelligence that God has given me, and the vision of what this country can be.

“We can fulfil the potentials of Ghana, and give our country a strong economy, which will provide opportunities for the creation of jobs, and good money to flow into the pockets of everybody.”

Nana Akufo-Addo appealed to the delegates to rally strongly behind him, and give him a massive endorsement in Saturday’s presidential primary.
