Air Traffic Controllers call off strike

Air Traffic Controllers across the country have called off their strike which they declared Tuesday morning.

Domestic flights at all airports in the country were grounded while hundreds of air passengers remained stranded due to the strike by air traffic controllers.

The strike created chaos and panic among passengers at the Kotoka International Airport as well as other airports across the country.

The Ghana Air Traffic Controllers Association was demanding an immediate redress of safety, operational, technical and management issues confronting the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority.

Transport Minister Dzifa Attivor engaged the Air Traffic Controllers in a meeting where she pleaded with them to call off their strike so their issues are settled amicably.

Speaking to XYZ News, Michael Kwapong Atiemo, President of the Air Traffic Controllers Association said they decided to call off their strike after assurances from government that their grievances would be addressed.
