GLICO donates to Ghana @ 50

Accra, Jan. 15, GNA - Gemini Life Insurance Company (GLICO) on Monday presented a cheque of 100 million cedis to the Ghana @ 50 Secretariat towards the Jubilee celebration of the country.

Mr Edward Forkuo Kyei, Executive Director of GLICO, who presented the cheque to the Secretariat, said the package formed part of the Company's social responsibility aimed at cotributing to the development of the nation.

He said GLICO has designed a Group Personal Accident Insurance Package for the 20-man team of the Secretariat of Ghana @ 50 for one calendar year and that the cover, which was 500 million cedis would take effect immediately and would end on January 14, 2008.

He expressed the hope that the insurance policy would

enable the staff to execute their duties with utmost

dedication and commitment, knowing that their lives were

insured by GLICO. Mr Forkuo Kyei said the Company would also support

other events planned for the jubilee celebration. The

programmes include Ghana Golden Homecoming, special

National Essay competition and Greening Ghana. Mr Charles Wireko-Brobbey, Chairman of the Planning

Committee of Ghana @ 50, who received the cheque, said

the Secretariat was working hard to ensure that Ghana

would be a better place to live in.
