Nana Owusu and Yaw Amofa Peprah Ties the knot!

Chicago, October 3 2015...Members of the Ghanaian Community here and from other states in the USA massively came to show their support to Nana A. Owusu and Yaw Amofa Peprah as they entered into Holy Matrimony at the luxurious Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club, Hoffman Estates Illinois. The colorful ceremony was officiated by Rev. Amos Oladipo. He was ably assisted by Reverend Dr. Kofi Nonoo, leader of the Ghanaian Council of Churches in Chicago and other Ministers.


Nana A. Owusu, aka MissGhana, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Owusu, prominent members of the Ghanaian community here. Mr. Owusu aka Naneffe, aka Nanagyata, is popularly known for his expertise in video production. Nana Owusu and Yaw Peprah, though looks exceptionally young, are both graduates with Master's degrees. Nana A. Owusu has been assisting her father in taking videos in the community. Nana Owusu is known by her peers as an assertive, brilliant, unassuming and strong fledgling young lady who is not easily pushed around. It is therefore no wonder that Nana planned and executed her own wedding with excellence!


Reception for the wedding was held at the deluxe Condesa Del Mar Banquet, 12220 S. Cicero Avenue, Alsip Illinois. Attendance at the reception was a convergence of the older and younger generations of Ghanaians in Chicago. D.J Odikro comprehended the generational blend by playing the most popular lyrics from "old to new school".


The Emcee for the occasion was Mrs. Elizabeth Mills.

A week earlier, the engagement of the young couple took place at the Owusu's residence. The ceremony was heavily attended as family members of the couple, coworkers, admirers and community members came in their numbers. Astonishingly, Nana Owusu could speak her mother's native Ga language fluently when she responded to a question by saying " mii sumorle tumor sher", literally means , "I love him like sugarcane". Nana Owusu could also speak fluent Twi and chorused effortlessly on the Ghanaian songs' played and sang at the function! Unusual on these occasions, the lady's family also presented assortment of gifts to the man who was asking their daughter's hand in marriage!


The Owusu and Amofa Peprah families would like to thank all well-wishers and attendees of both functions for your wonderful support during the engagement and wedding ceremony of their son and daughter.
