Ghanaian Judge excels in U.S.A

A Ghanaian Magistrate, Mavis Ekua Enyamah Kwainoe, who is studying in the Prestigious George Washington Law School is carrying the flag of Ghana high.

Miss Kwainoe is a Burgenthal Scholar, an LLM candidate in International and Comparative Law.

She has been nominated to represent Ghana and in fact, Africa, in Panel discussion on corruption. Other panelists are from China, U.K, France and the USA. Magistrate Kwainoe’s topic focuses on combating corruption in Africa; Legal and non-Legal measures.

She discussed issues as corruption perceptions, actors and magnitude, causes of corruption as well as concerns about the menace. She further discussed anti-corruption legislations in Ghana with focus on money laundering.

The Magistrate made recommendations both non-legal and legal measures to be adopted.

For her great contributions, Miss Mavis Kwainoe will also attend a session organised by International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) as a panelist to discuss the status of women in New Yorke on 9th March, 2015.

The learned Magistrate is also billed to attend a workshop on International Humanitarian Law in Virginia from 21st February, 2015.

It is to be noted that the Honourable Lady Chief Justice of Ghana, Mrs.Theodora Georgina Wood nominated Her Worship Mavis Kwainoe to undertake further studies in June 2014.

With these qualities being exhibited, the Honourable Chief Justice will be proud of the nominee who is carrying the flag of Ghana and the African continent.
