Alpha And Omega International Ministries Is Eight

The Alpha and Omega Bible Church of Fairfield, Ohio in the USA celebrated eight years of gospel sharing with the world in grand style. The three nights of worship, prayers and thanksgiving occurred Friday June 6th, 2014 through Sunday June 8th, 2014 at the Church auditorium at 642 Riegart square in downtown Fairfield.

These three days of action packed, spirit filled celebration attracted many people from all walks of life and religious persuasions. Speaking on the theme, “Focus on Christ, but not crisis”, the guest speaker, The Very Rev. Eric Osei of Action Worship Center in Laurel, Maryland implored the gathering to be obedient to God so as to build a better world. He admonished the large gathering to trust in God, eschew worldly pleasures and consume themselves in prayer and supplication to God.

The highlight of the celebration was all thanksgiving on Sunday June 6th. The General Overseer of the Ministry, Bishop Enoch Osei-Poku, flanked by his wife Mrs. Osei-Poku and Apostle JB Danquah, recounted the modest beginning of the ministry. According to the Bishop, while serving as a junior pastor in another church, a call came to him to plant a God centered, gospel oriented church. Unsure of what he heard, he submitted this vision into prayer and sought clarity from God. Having satisfied himself, he together with his family and friends started the ministry in his house basement in June 2008, and today, is regularly attended by at least sixty members on any given Sunday, growing godly elders and nurturing theologically informed disciples. He said God has prepared the ministry to take the world, hence the theme New Beginning.

With joyful tears, he thanked his wife and family for their support. He said he felt like giving up on some occasions and whenever there were obstacles or doubt begins to set in, he will turn to God. “My duty was towards the obedience of God’s command, and there was no way I was going to fail”, he quipped. The Bishop finally encouraged his congregation to always focus on Christ, but not crisis and know that prayer answers all. The celebration was rounded off with the cutting of the anniversary cake, and refreshments for the hundreds of worshipers.
