This is not a balanced account at all! Your point is Western systems change African women, not African men!
Do you intend to say that African women take advantage of the Western system while African men don't. The fact of the matter is that the same problems facing African marriages are encountered by non-Africans too. Why do you quote the Pew Research Center and make references to African men, not all others studied by Pew? You are the type of bogus pastors who don't work and rely on tithes and you do so by pitting husbands against wives. With your kind of mindset, I wonder how you counsel your clients. Like many of yoru kind, you end up sleeping with the "wives" that you claim to counsel. Your hald-baked analysis and conclusion shows that you are the problem.

Adu,I think you should rather go back and read the article again. This stupid pastor is clearly suggesting western education is emancipating the African woman but my clear observation is its rather the educated women who stick to their husbands and practice the traditional african marriage. Helping the wife at home has never been a problem for the average husband in Africa or the west. The problem is we are getting a new breed of women who feel the law is on their side so they can behave anyway they want including having multiple partners just the average man is perceived to do. Their attitude is you can go if you cant stand the heat and it is idiotic pastors like this writer who fuel the fire with stupid comments . Let me assure you, there are still plenty of classy african women about and they are more likely to come with an educated background

(At least he is bold to publicly reveal his identity; I hope this is your real name) You and your likes may hate intellectual analysis of issues, except to insult. When a person brings out his OBSERVATION, it may not necessarily mean that he is right; but at least he brings out a certain perspective. Then you also could bring yours. That is how civilized people and civilized countries have advanced their societies. They don't just jump up to insult other people's personal OBSERVATIONS, without putting out theirs. Shall we grow up!

There are a lot men who have seen what married life is both in Ghana and the west and it is amazing how the same woman can change depending on where she lives. I have no time for abusive men but my issue is with those women who abuse the western system. The pastor did not address the women who disgrace all decent african women.I felt his article was not balanced but rather justifies those women who abuse the system. loads of pastors are making a bad situation worse so the word stupid was not used lightly but objectively. I pity people like you who think anything a pastors says is

To those of you lambasting Pastor Frank, the issue he has bravely brought up for discussion is real. So please hold your tirades, bag, and shelve them. There are many African Brothers in Europe and North American caught up in this trap and can’t get out of the I-AM-KING-OF-THE-HOUSEHOLD-MENTALITY (Typical African Man – TAM, as some of them call themselves). If one TAM reads Frank’s article and decides to practice an EQUAL-SHARE-PATNERSHIP in his matrimonial home, HALLELUJAH, that is one saved marriage right there. Let’s drop the primary school temper tantrum, cut out the insults, and elevate the conversation as reasonable, objective, and intelligent adults coming together to brain-storm to resolve a serious problem. Whatever good comes out of this may help some of our STUCK-IN-THE-STONEAGE Brethren back in African.

What the pastor failed to say is that most married African women in the diaspora were brought there by African men. To a larger extent the clear reason why most African men go above and beyond to bring African women to the diaspora as their wives is because of the common culture and traditions that they view as very important in making a good marriage. It is a shock and disappointment to the man when the African wife he tried so hard to join him in the diaspora turns her back on the much cherished African values and start behaving similar or sometimes even worse than women from different cultures. There is nothing that turns an African man off in marriage than a wife who throws out the African values and become a wannabe "Westernized woman".

I understood it to mean that African men often neglect to be affectionate and loving towards their wives because they deem that to be alien to our culture and a sign of weakness whereas men of other races tend to apply this Biblical instruction to their marriages. Thus the pastor was encouraging African men to do the same. He wasn't saying only African men were instructed to do this by God.

I would like the pastor to talk about matrilinial and patrilinial inheritances in dealing of western, middle, eastern, northern and southern marriages. Take the body of human being for instance, the man being the head, the woman being the neck and the children being the trunk or the rest of the body. The head revolves on the head and the neck links the head to the body. The three parts should harmonise on the nice functioning of the brain in the head. Period.

Show me a man who doesn't want a gainfully employed woman for a wife and i will show you 10 successful sisters who havent allowed their meagre successes to cloud their judgments about relationships. The fact of the matter is, while men are having a difficult time adapting to the realities of today, most educated and successful women are also clueless about what it takes to make a marriage work alongside their careers. Pastor, until you are ready to call a spade a spade, please keep your opinions to yourself.
