NPP-USA Communiqué after 2014 Congress

Under the theme “Unifying the Party, and Empowering the People to Secure
Victory”, the NPP-USA Branch overwhelmingly re-elected Nana Kwaku Agyei
Yeboah as Chairman of the branch with a new leadership team of Fred Kyei
Asamoah - Vice-Chairman, Augustine Agbenaza - General Secretary and Collins
Nuamah - Treasurer. From the informative and proactively grounded speeches
of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, Hon. Adwoa Safo, Hon. Hawa
Koomson, Chairman Omari Wadie, Gabby Otchere Darko and former presidential
aspirant, Arthur Kennedy, NPP-USA is well positioned to ride the highs of
this 2014 congress to victory for NPP in 2016. Amponsah Stonash said it
best that “[I]n winning election 2016, the key is Unity. Let us remain more
united than ever before and win back the confidence of our people....”

In appreciation of the highly charged congress and the unifying and
empowering spirit that the membership embraced, it is hereby resolved that:

· The NPP brand is what Ghanaians are still waiting for to move the
country to greener pastures;

· NPP-USA will continue with its vision and expand on its agenda to
secure victory through effective resourcing of its volunteers during the
campaign, elections and after the elections;

· NPP-USA will continue to expand and resource its election
monitoring teams to ensure One Member One Vote (OMOV) and protect our
democratic principles;

· Appropriate committees will be empanelled to manage the systems
put in place for Victory 2016;

· Our next flag bearer should be an individual who can unite the
Party and empower the people to vote and secure victory for the NPP in 2016;

· Selfless volunteerism should be encouraged and promoted in the NPP;

· The 2016 campaign should not be in the hands and direction of a
few, but the general grassroots participating in the process;

· We will protect the ballot from the time it is cast through its
announcement with committed, alert, and literate members;

· Our polling agents will be well trained and versatile in our
election proceedings and procedures;

· NPP-USA will have Congress every four years;

· Proper consideration will be taken to assess the viability of a
mid-term congress, to better position the party and the branch for
successful and successive election victories after 2016;

· Proper access to, and dissemination of information would be put in
place for better accountability, transparency and probity;

· All amendments to our bylaws would be incorporated and distributed
to all members;

· Proper Council of Elders will be established to advise and support
the agenda set by the National Executive Council (NEC); and

· All Chapters would be properly realigned to the agenda of the
Branch and act in accordance with vision 2016;

It is resolved that the Chairman, in consultation with his new executives
shall appoint members to the new NEC and publish said membership within the
next 21 business days. Let us all unify and empower our people to victory
in 2016 and entertain constructive criticisms while maintaining our
democratic principles “not to speak ill of a fellow NPP”. *Kukruduuuuuu!
