Why are they all located in London? What about other UK and Ireland cities. Maybe I should start one in Ireland - Auntie Muni's Waakye joint :)

It looks like the ghanain are eating thier own dishes ,This is not how food goes International?it has only changed location and being consumed by its own people.the Arabs, north, the Ethiopians and parts of east African, thier foods have gone International. In west Africa, its only the Senegalese "Jollof" and the togolese food which are being recognised. They mixed or have Developed it for the consumption of others(In masses). Our food is too heavy,"hot" and it takes too long to prepare !!!!!!!eating our own food in europe doesn,t make it International.

When other people from different countries come to love Ghana Food, the food and agric industry in Ghana will grow, Jobs will be created, per capita income will rise, GDP will rise, the country will improve to the envy of many. there is another joint at Tooting Broadway has a special joint just at the entrance to the market, best waakye and kenkey for sure.
but I support the other comments that Ghanaians eating their own food abroad does not really make it international. I think we need to define our starters, desserts and vege very well. we can also borrow from other cultures and add to our massive foods. our foods are tasty but presentation and setting of the food is also crucial. eg at a restaurant one can start with some small kelewele or vegetable mix while awaiting for the banku and tilapia. also becos banku/kenkey are from fermented maize, not every one likes it. to smoothen someones palate into banku, serve him some yoghurt first, which makes the transferring into banku easier becos they both are fermented. also try rice powder for bank which is easier on the palate etc...for more secrets and ideas facebook me at Kofi Gideon at Cambridge

There is far too much pepper in the Ghanaian dishes. They should consider making the food mild, hot and extra hot. They should cater for all races and nationalities, not just the Ghanaian customers. Cheers.
