Bawumia and Sir John Storm Edmonton

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Sir John Storm Edmonton, Alberta and Western Canada

“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning”. - Sir Winston Churchill, Speech in November 1942.

Today, millions of Ghanaians wish for a real change in the direction our country is taking. And, I might add, wishing for the right kind of leadership to bring about that change.

The sense of loss of direction in Ghana has dawned on different Ghanaians at different times. Some, like President Rawlings believe it started in the first week of President Mills’ administration.

The journey to bring a sense of direction, able leadership and optimism to Ghanaians is well under way. The listening and restore hope campaigns of Team Akufo-Addo and Bawumia are vehicles on this journey. These vehicles have traversed not only the length and breadth of Ghana but also beyond the shores of Ghana.

On Sunday, July 22, 2012, the city of Edmonton in Alberta, Western Canada will be the place to be for many Ghanaians in Western Canada. Yes, that is how far the listening and restore hope campaign has travelled. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia , accompanied by Mr. Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, NPP General Secretary and Mr. Anthony Abayefa Karbo, NPP National Youth Organizer will be in Edmonton to bring the campaign to the doorstep of Ghanaians in Western Canada, specifically to Edmonton. The Bawumia-led delegation has already visited a number of cities in North America with significant Ghanaian communities since the team departed Ghana on Thursday July 5, 2012.

Hosting the delegation in Edmonton will be NPP Alberta, a strong and vibrant organization which is under the able leadership of Mr. Kwame Abrefah. Whilst in Edmonton, Dr. Bawumiah will meet with business leaders, high ranking government officials and the Ghanaian community at a cocktail party on Sunday July 22.

The journey to listen and restore hope to Ghanaians by the NPP will not end in Edmonton. Edmonton will not even be the beginning of the end of the journey. But it will be, God willing the end of the beginning towards Victory 2012.
