NPP Foreign Branches Kick Off 2012 Campaigns.

Just after the successful conduct of the parliamentary primaries that elected parliamentary candidates to contest the 219 seats in the country come December 2012 general elections, signals picked by this reporter indicates that the New Patriotic Party[NPP] foreign branches are kicking off the campaign with various lined up activities.

One may think that 19 months away from general elections, it was too early for the country’s opposition party the NPP to kick start campaign activities. But these foreign branches are not waiting for the last minute to arrive before going to town with the message of their party to win votes.

Whiles the Canada Chapter of the party is holding a dinner and chat occasion on May 7 to raise funds to support the party’s major campaign activities in Ghana to ensure that it wrest power from the NDC, the Germany Chapter is also holding the third International Conference come June 9-12,2011.

This became known to this freelance reporter when he intercepted a well designed flyer over the weekend, sent to some members here in Toronto by the secretary Mr. Kwaku Appiah, inviting them to attend the conference comes June 9-12, 2011.

According to the flyer, the conference which will be under the theme,” recapture 2012” will be in two segments as the dinner dance will be held on June 10, 2011 at Hans des Sport Schaferkamsallee 1, 20357 Hamburg opposite U bhfschhmp where members will have the opportunity to dine and dance with the party’s hierarchy.

The on June 11, 2011, leaders of the party will have a meeting with members of the party as well as entire Ghanaian community at Volkshockschule Farmsen Berner Heerweg 183, Hamburg to share the message of the party to them and also discuss other issues bothering them as residents in foreign destination and how to find solutions to them as one people.

Apart from the dinner and dance, Mr. Kwaku Appiah, indicated that there would be a couple of speeches that would be delivered by various party leaders such as the national chairman Jake Obestebi Lamptey, former president John Agyekum Kufuor and the NPP flag bearer for the 2012 elections Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
