NPP Toronto chapter hosts barbeque for members

The Toronto Chapter of the NPP hosted a barbeque for its members, sympathizers and supporters on Saturday at the Labour Day weekend. The barbeque was organized to rally around Ghanaian Patriots in Canada for their support and ideas to change Ghana.

Addressing the gathering, the Toronto Chapter Chairman, Christian Akyempon, regretted that at this technological and scientific age, cholera was killing “our people”. Mr. Akyempon, who is a pharmacist by profession, was grateful to Almighty God that EBOLA has not teamed up with cholera to kill Ghanaians.

It is regrettable that some of the talk show journalists in Ghana “particularly the women” have the guts to praise but not to blame the President for failing to launch an intensive campaign to rid the country of cholera. Mr. Akyempon said “the love for our country Ghana had urged all of us to volunteer to help build the nation with our money and ideas”.

The Chairman announced that fund raising activities will start in autumn with a special dinner and the venue will be announced very soon. This will be in preparation for the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections

At the function, more than 20 people signed up to join the chapter and some even paid the fees for registration and dues. Side attraction was the cutting of CAKE

The chairman thanked all the participants and hoped that all will attend the next meeting on September 28 at 350 Grand ravine Drive.
