nppnpp

In his welcome address at the fundraising and dinner dance event at Connecticut on Saturday, July 23, 2016, Mr. Eugene Kyerematen, the chairman of the Connecticut Chapter of NPP-USA called on Ghanaians abroad to rally behind the NPP and its presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo – who was present at the event – to win the impending December 7 general elections. Mr. Kyerematen said that he has a strong believe in Nana Akufo-Addo to offer good governance that will better the lives of Ghanaians. The chapter chairman added that the call to rescue Ghana from the shackles of incompetence and corruption is not an NPP call but a national one.

Below is the full address delivered by Mr. Eugene Kyerematen.

Speech Delivered by Chapter Chairman of NPP Connecticut, Eugene Kyerematen at Fundraising Event that Hosted Nana Akufo-Addo

Mr. Chairman, our Distinguish Flagbearer and Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Honorable Freddy Blay, Chairman Kwaku Agyei-Yeboah, fellow Patriots, Nananom, Distinguished Guests, Ladies, and Gentlemen:

On behalf of Connecticut Chapter of the NPP-USA, I humbly and happily welcome you to the State of Connecticut; proudly known as the Constitution State for the fact that it had the first written constitution of any known government. Aside that, this state is also the home of World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and the Insurance Capital of the world.

Today is a historic day! And I am much honored and privileged to be here with you tonight as the host chapter chairman. I must state that for the first time in the history of Connecticut, we are delighted to host here in East Hartford the flagbearer and the presidential candidate of our great party, the New Patriotic Party; the party with a long-standing political tradition in Ghana and one of the formidable political parties in Africa. Also here with us tonight from Ghana are the acting chairman of our party, Hon. Freddy Blay (a fellow Santaclausian), Mr. Abankwa Yeboah, the National Treasure; Mr. Humphrey Ayim Darke, the Deputy Treasure; Mr. Charles Owiredu, Director of the International Affairs of the party; Mr. Sammy Awuku, dynamic National Youth Organizer; Nana Addo’s Political Assistant, Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye; Eugene Arhin, Press Secretary to Nana Addo; and our very own champion Chairman of NPP-USA, Nana Kwaku Agyei-Yeboah.

Ladies and gentlemen, your presence here tonight affirms mine believes that we are much more united in the purpose to which we have gathered here; that is the shared responsibility to oil and put our shoulders to the NPP campaign machinery to win political power to fight corruption in our country, promote transparency and accountability, and in essence, provided a better standard of living for the good people of Ghana.

I will urge all to join the call to redeem our nation from the shackles of incompetence and the local and international humiliations that have befallen our country under the watch of John Mahama and the NDC. I encourage the Ghanaian communities abroad to rise up and support, whichever way possible, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP to win power in the upcoming crucial elections in Ghana on December 7. Diasporas, we have the ability and the wherewithal to hugely influence the call for change in the political leadership of our dear nation, Ghana. And this is the time for us to play our part. Remember, Israel is Israel today because of the Jewish Diaspora. Though they are nationals of their adopted countries, they still contribute financially, politically, intellectually and culturally to the growth of Israel, and lobby foreign governments on behalf of Israel.

Mr. Chairman, venerable Flagbearer, Ladies and Gentlemen, I sincerely thank you for making time out of your busy schedules to be here with us tonight. At the same time, I would also like to express my deep gratitude to all my chapter members and the planning committee without whom this event wouldn’t have been possible. They have done great job!

Let me stay here and now that Ghana cannot be the country we want it to be without us! The Diasporas. Let’s therefore join forces to bring the needed change in our beloved country, Ghana.

God bless the NPP
God bless our homeland, Ghana
