Ghanaian Appointed United Nations Rep For Namibia

Anita Kiki Gbeho, a Ghanaian, has been appointed as the United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Representative for Namibia.

She takes over from Mr. Musinga Bandora, whose three-and-a-half years tenure ended on June 30.

A United Nations' source in New York said Anita Gbeho, who holds a Master's Degree from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor's from the State University of New York, was until the appointment the Chief of Section (Africa) in the Office for the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in New York.

She previously served as the Head of Office for Somalia for OCHA operations and Humanitarian Affairs Officer (OCHA) in Sudan.

The new UNDP Representative for Namibia started as a Public Information Assistant at the UN, New York in April 1988.
