As a Ghanaian I no very well that Ghanaians would usually use terms like, "I an sure" while in actual fact they "doubt" the outcome of some issues. Ayitey might have promised them the visas... Let's wait for the verdict in this case...

So Ghanaman can part with a whooping US$8,000 just for Aussie Visa? Going to Austrlia to do what? As a teacher, engineer, lawyer, librarian, accountant a Doctor/nurse or just to do wala tu wala sa? Oh, my God. Honestly, a lot of Ghanaians need to be schoooled about life in obroni krom. It's not milk and honey over here. With US$ 8000, one can start a business in Gh and prosper. You don't need to spend such a huge sums of money just to go do menial jobs in a white man's land. Let me tell you, if you don't have proper nkrataa, your life will be miserable out there.
And the most painful part is that some get duped, others cheated with fake visas and they are sent back home from Heathrow, J.F. Kennedy or OR Tambo in Jo'burg. Ignorance is more deadly than Ebola. Stay at home, I'm prepared to go back home. My school mates I left behind have all made it big time, but I can't boast of anything in the diaspora.

Ayitey Powers has not recovered from his recent merciless beatings and you want to jail him again? He needed some money to support his family and he counted on some naive Ashantis who expressed their desire to do Wala tu Wala Sa in far away Aussie. Ayitey was wrong in that he doesn't work at the High Commission and even if he did, passports forvisas are not submitted to an individual outside the High Commission and moreso in Ghana while the High Commission is in Kenya against such colossal sums of money.
Please let him do some menial jobs of national interest as punishment.

This case in isolation, but use this opportunity to deal a deadly blow to this ugly 'connection business' that has given our country such a bad name at consular sections of many diplomatic missions operating within and outside the shores of this country!
I have folloewd this case very closely from the outset, and I would be highly disappointed if these two complainants, who should have know better, because one of them ,who had lived in Italy for a numbers of years before returning home,is very much aware that to you do not get any "guarantees" in these sorts of illegal arrangements! Many have lost huge sums of money,in addition to their spouses to these 'smooth-talking' visa racketeers who prey on 'victims' at home and in the diaspora.
Besides, the two individuals lied to Ayittey Powers about their previous dealings with the Visa section of the Aussie High Commission, willingly participated in certain acts of fraud of their own, in their quest to obtain the visas! I know of a recent situation, where an applicant looking for a tourist`s visa,,had his application turned down on a follow up visit to the mission to provide additional supporting documents, simply because he had inadvertently indicated on a new form that he had never been denied a visa to any country! Of course the consular officials knew he had been in there, and been asked to provide some additional information, but the mere fact that they misread or misinterpreted the question on the form was sufficient grounds to turn down the application, believe it or not! Even the intervention by highly-placed acquaintances of the relatives of the visa applicant in the host country, could not get the rejection to be reversed because Ghanaians have been branded as "liars" by many foreign Consular Officials. The court should therefore deal harshly withe the complainants as well as Powers to put a damper on this sad situation we find ourselves in! Did these people not present 'new passports', with name and occupational changes from the earlier ones they presented with the old application not involving Ayittey Powers? So are they not also guilty of fraud, as per Amoateng`s recent case!
All of them must be charged for their wrongful act.
