Crime & Punishment of Saturday, 23 August 2014
Two brothers are before the law for defiling a 14-year-old Junior High School pupil at Abakah, a suburb in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District in the Central region.
The accused persons, Kobima Takyi in his 30s and Nana Yaw in his late 20s, are in police grips and scheduled to appear before court soon.
Narrating her ordeal to Adom News, the victim [name withheld] said she was on her way to her grandmother’s house when the suspects accosted her on the road.
“They took me to the house of my sister’s husband, covered my mouth with a cloth and raped me."
The victim said the two raped her after she declined a proposal by one of the suspects.
Meanwhile, the case seems to have taken a new twist as the grandmother of the victim Adwoa Fuwah, reveals that one of the suspects, Nana Yaw, is alleged to have had sex with one of her granddaughters years ago.
The family has already been issued with a medical report by the Abura Dunkwa government hospital, confirming that the victim was defiled.
The suspects have been remanded to Prison custody to reappear by the end of August, 2014.
