Wee Cop interdicted

The Police Administration has interdicted Chief Inspector Paul Akpabli of Golokwati Police Station for allegedly escorting seven bags of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.

The officer was arrested together with two others by a team of police personnel at Sokode-Ando in the Volta Region while transporting the suspected narcotic substance in a Hyundai bus with registration number AS 6936 – 09.

The other two suspects are the driver, Peter Kamasah, 23 and the driver’s mate, Daniel Ekualiho, 26.

According to a statement issued by the Police Administration and signed by DSP Cephas Arthur, Director of Public Affairs, preliminary investigation indicated that Chief Inspector Akpabli took a fee of GH¢400 to escort the substance from Kpeve to the owner at Dzodze, all in the Volta Region.

“All the three suspects are in police custody pending further investigation and necessary action,” the statement intimated.

In line with the Public Confidence Re-affirmation Campaign, the Administration re-iterated that it would not shield any police officer who misconducted himself or herself,
