Wow, this is a very interesting case. The question that comes in my mind is what are becoming of our mother land Ghana and the people living in it. As I was growing up in Ghana, I did believe Ghana was a God fearing Country and was so proud to talk about Ghana. But now, as a servant of God living in abroad, hearing what so called “Pastors” are doing and the evil words Ghanaians are talking about Men of God in Ghana, make me feel ashamed to tell people I am a Ghanaian, many people in UK where I live don’t want to associate themselves with Ghanaian Pastors, why? Because of the way we talk and the way people are mistakenly taking men and women operating with a divination spirit as Pastors and Prophets. God tells us His view of divination in Deuteronomy 18:10 “There shall not be found among you . . . anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens.”
As Luke travelled with Paul and Silas in the city of Philippi, he recorded an encounter with a diviner: “We were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling” (Acts 16:16). The girl’s ability to penetrate mysteries was due to a demon that controlled her. Her masters received “much gain” from their slave. Paul eventually exorcised the demon (verse 18), freeing the girl from her spiritual bondage and angering the slave owners (verse 19). Look at the way even Ghana police refer to Isaac Asante a student of MC Jakes Theological and Ministerial Bible College at Sowutoum as a Pastor, after even knowing that he use a magic oil, so called anointing oil.
Now even a criminal holding a Bible is being called a Pastor or a Prophet. Ghanaians are moving from God and His word and turning to follow miracles without compare the source to the word of God. The Word of God says; “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit” (Matthew 7:15-18).
Even the disciples of Jesus at that time was alert of did not want anyone to devise them so they came to Jesus and ask; “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many (Matthew 24:3b-5).
Jesus continues by saying; “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the entire world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:11-14). If this girl is really thought of the word of God, I don’t think she will follow miracle to enter a room with that man. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it” (Matthew 24:26).
My cry is for Ghana and the people of Ghana, may God save Us.
