Purchasing Clerk remanded for swindling the PBC

Abubakari Moro, a cocoa purchasing clerk, is now in trouble with the law for swindling the Produce Buying Company (PBC) of GH¢92,000.00.

He had taken the money to supply the company with cocoa beans but he failed to deliver.

Moro was remanded into prison custody when he appeared before the Juaso Circuit Court, presided over by Justice Alex Asante Obeng, and pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing and was ordered to re-appear on Friday, October 19.

Chief Inspector Joseph Obeng told the court that the accused lives at Akronwe and was given the money by the PBC during the 2011/2012 cocoa season to purchase the beans for it.

He said Moro failed to honour his part of the bargain and all efforts to get him to return the money came to nothing.

A formal report was therefore made to the police and he was arrested.
