A ten-year-old girl defiled after attending Church crusade

Tamale, April 23, GNA - A ten-year-old girl who lost her way during a church crusade held at the Tamale Sports Stadium on 16 April, has been defiled by a man who offered to help her find home. allegedly defiled her.

Chief Inspector Tetteh, Public Relations Officer (PRO), Northern Regional Police Command, told the GNA on Thursday that the girl, who is a=

class-five pupil, left the crusade grounds to attend to nature's call in a nearby bush after which she decided to go home but could not find her bearings. Issah Yahaya had left the helpless victim in his room after the act and after some time, the girl came out of the room to look for water to quenc= h her thirst. He said an old lady in the house noticed some abnormalities about th= e girl and inquired from her.

Police after he was informed of the girl's ordeal as narrated to the old lady which led to the arrest of Issah Yahaya. He said Issah Yahaya would be put before court for defilement after investigation adding, a medical report had confirmed penetration.
