Court jails electrician for defilement

A Circuit Court in Dormaa – Ahenkro on Tuesday jailed Moses Yeboah, 22, an electrician to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a 14 –year - old girl.

Yeboah pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea.

Prosecuting Detective Inspector Tin Ahiaduvor, told the court presided over by Mr Osei Kofi Amoako that the complainant, a trader is a mother to the victim, a class six pupil of Dormaa Ahenkro Municipal Assembly Primary School.

He said the convict and the victim both reside in the same neighbourhood at Koraso, a suburb of Dormaa – Ahenkro.

Detective Inspector Ahiaduvor said on June 29, at about 2200 hours, the complainant travelled and the victim was in the care of her grandfather. The convict managed to lure the victim into his room and had sexual intercourse with her.

The two spent the night together in the convict’s room and the victim returned to his house the next morning on June 30 at about 0400 hours.

The Prosecutor said a witness informed the victim’s mother on her return.

He stated that a complaint was lodged and the convict was arrested. During investigations, Yeboah confessed having been in amorous relationship with the victim since May and has had sexual intercourse on June 21 and June 29.

Detective Inspector Ahiaduvor indicated that after investigations Yeboah was charged with the offence.
