Accra bourse slumps on loss of heavyweights

Accra, Nov. 30, GNA - Huge losses by three blue chips saw the GSE All-Share Index plunging in another poor trading on Wednesday. The GSE All-Share Index, the main market index, lost 58.28 points at 4,793.10 points.

Change for the year was deeper in the red at -29.50 per cent. SG-SSB plunged by 665 cedis at 7,200 cedis; Home Finance Company lost 500 cedis at 6,000 cedis while CAL bank was down by 100 cedis at 1,800 cedis.

Three equities climbed at the end of the day. Fan Milk Limited gained 140 cedis at 15,800; Guinness Ghana Limited was 20 cedis better at 7,720 cedis and Enterprise Insurance Company inched up by one cedi at 6,851 cedis.

Shares that changed hands slumped to 70,800 from 229,600 shares during Tuesday trading.

Market capitalisation plummeted at 91,920.91 billion cedis from 92,075.17 billion cedis from 3,393.18 million issued shares.
