Jomoro District Assembly approves 2015 budget

The Jomoro District Assembly has approved its 2015 annual composite budget to the tone of 7,656,123.46 Ghana Cedis for the development of the district.

The District Budget Officer, Mr De-graft Abotare presented the budget at the third ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Half Assini.

He said 92.83 per cent of the amount was made up of grants from Central Government and other Development partners while the remaining 7.17 per cent will be generated locally from the fees and other charges.

According to the budget 1,907,023.16 Ghana Cedis, representing 25.98 percent will go to Education, Youth and Sports, while 1,887.067 Ghana Cedis will be spent by Works Department.

Central Administration got 1,708,340.34 Ghana Cedis or 22.33 percent of the amount, while Health received 925,345.96 Ghana Cedis.

The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development received 147,491.31 Ghana Cedis, while 95,778.69 Ghana Cedis will be used for Fiscal Planning.

The Department of Trade and Industry received 31,370.84 Ghana Cedis while 10,000.00 will go to Disaster Prevention and Management.

The Assembly had earlier approved the District Medium Term Development Plan for 2014-2017 under its validation.
