Customer Awards for Service Stations unveiled

The most impactful customer service awards for service stations in the petroleum downstream sector, has been unveiled as the Ghana Petroleum Consumer Choice Awards (PCCA Ghana).

According to the PCCA Ghana official website: www. pccaghana.com, the annual awards project is working on making positive impacts in quality service delivery through the lenses of the ordinary petroleum consumers.

Also known as Service/Filling Station Awards Ghana, the project is recognising OMC Service Stations and stakeholder participants of OMC Service Stations, for exhibiting unusual and lasting commitment in giving the customer the best oil product and/or service, with the best processes, in the best environment.

Speaking to the General Secretary of the PCCA Ghana Technical Team, Mr Abel Gbogbolu, he affirmed that “PCCA Ghana is not just another awards event, but a project that practically and sustainably improves the quality of service delivery at the service station”.

According to him, a special partnership exists with the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, to critically and through a customer oriented program module, train and improve the capacity of service station pump attendants, supervisors/managers that would emerge among the PCCA top 20 best Pump Attendants and Service Station Supervisors/Managers.

He said the programme module is available on the PCCA Ghana website and the training is a free paid annual investment commitment by PCCA Ghana.

Official information from PCCA Ghana website also shows that the 2015 Ghana Petroleum Consumer Choice Awards have 20 different awards openings.

They are Capacity Awards; Best OMC Stations - Human Service, Best OMC Stations - Brand/Advertisement, Best OMC Stations - IT & Physical Infrastructure, Best OMC Stations - Environmental Suitability/Friendliness, Best OMC – Fuel Economy Adviser.

Product Quality & Quantity Awards; Quality/Quantity Super/Petrol Award (Normal Unleaded), Quality/Quantity Argo/Diesel Award (Normal Unleaded), Improved Fuels – Super/Petrol (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Improved Fuels – Argo/Diesel (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Best Fuel Card Service (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Best Lube Bay Award.

Individual Awards; Most Customer Focused OMC Stations (Overall Best), Pump attendant of the year (Top 20 for the year), Station Manager/Supervisor of the year (Top 20 for the year), Corporate Social Responsibility Award (OMC Level), PCCA Special Recognition Award (Lifetime/Special Recognition/Need Improvement Award), PCCA State & Stakeholder Award (State or Private Strategic Programme/ Intervention for fuel quality & quantity improvement at OMC Service Stations)

According to the General Secretary, the PCCA Ghana calendar is June every year, to be preceded by media launch and short listing/nomination activities, and succeeded by the PCCA CIMG Training Programme for the PCCA top 20 Best Pump Attendants and Service Stations Supervisors/Managers.

He asked stakeholders to the downstream oil sector to continue supporting the project, while those that are possible shortlists, continue assessing their chances with the various award categories.
