Joy Industries wins top award

Joy Industries Limited producers of Joy Ointment, Joy Soap and Joy Dadi Bitters (JD) and owners of BRYT 99.1 FM a Koforidua based private Radio Station currently on text transmission were last Friday honoured for their consistency in producing quality products for the Ghanaian market over the years.

At the second edition of the Ghana Made Awards held at the Banquet Hall in Accra, twenty-six (26) local companies were given awards on the night, JOY OINTMENT and JOY SOAP, two of the products of Joy Industries Limited, was adjudged the HERBAL PRODUCT OF THE YEAR of the Year 2013/2014 for the outstanding quality of the two products.

In an interview after receiving the award, the Chief Executive Officer and his Deputy, Dr. Manfred Takyi and Dr. Harrison Tetteh of Joy Industries Limited expressed their appreciation to Ghanaians for patronizing their Joy Ointment and Joy Soap over the years and gave the assurance that the company would continue to provide quality products to the Ghanaian markets always as according to them because they want their customers to know their products, edge them to daily visit the company website, www.joyindustriesgh.com, to give their comment and suggestions about the products.

They therefore, advice and said Patronizing Ghanaian made and grown products will ensure keeping our family members employed thereby contributing to the economic development of our dear nation Ghana.

Dr. Manfred Takyi and Dr. Harrison Tetteh, urged Ghanaians to change their attitude towards the consumption of local products to help create more jobs and strengthen the local currency.

They said such a change was essential for transforming the economy, stressing that patronising local goods will create jobs for the growing youth, result in industrial expansion and enable local industries to compete with their foreign counterparts.

The key objectives of the award is to provide the platform for Ghanaian consumers to patronize Ghana made products, create awareness, loyalty, recognition and prestige for Ghana made products and also encourages Ghanaian industries to make significant improvements in product excellence, innovation and quality to meet the challenges of domestic and international markets.

The awards which will be conducted annually are to offer opportunity to the manufacturing industries to gain competitive advantage by having their products recognized on a prominent and far – reaching scale.

The event, organised by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG), was held under the auspices of the Ministries of Trade and Industry and Finance and the Ghana Investments Promotion Centre (GIPC).

Held on the theme, “Industrialisation, the key strategy to accelerated economic development and job creation”, the event was designed to celebrate distinguished local companies and products.

Ghana Made Awards is about seeking the pride of Ghanaian indigenous products from large, small and medium industries and expose them to Ghanaians throughout the country to promote, create awareness and build product loyalty to meet the challenges of domestic and international markets.

It was also to expose locally manufactured products to the local market by promoting and creating awareness of them and help build product loyalty.

Frytol Vegetable cooking oil, a product of Wilmar Africa Limited, was adjudged the Overall Best Ghana Made Product of the Year.

Ghana Made Awards is an initiative of Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Finance. In collaboration with Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Ghana Standard Authority, Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Private Enterprise Federation and EDAIF.
