Well! Impressive qualifications for both gentlemen. However, Prez. Mahama should tread carefully when making the appointment of the Head of our National Bank. Historically those who had headed the Research Department of the Bank got the nod if there was vacancy. Reading from the above profiles, it's clear that both men while impressive, Dr Wampah is clearly and absolutely more qualified than Mr Andani.
Andani should stick to Stanbic bank, clearly he's doing a great job there.

The MD of Stanbic is not the best choice. Just a figure head at Stanbic the South Africans had to rescue the bank. So so bad loans

The next Governor shld be a politician, a banker (ACIB) who understands economics and the workings of the modern complex financial system. Someone who will bring discipline and inspire confidence in the market. The Cedi is the product, it is our medium of exchange, Our unit of account and will it be our store of value? Obama, Tony Blair were all new to the job. David was a goathead in the field. Mother Ghana your sons are stucked in foreign lands.

As for me I don't have confidence in both of them, they should go and hire the governor of the Bank of South Africa. After all our colonial masters have hired that of the Canadians.

It’s important to focus on one of the points the article makes: Henry Kofi Akpenamawu Wampah put together the five member countries in the zone for monetary union. One of the successful results of this is that the other countries have really done better since the union was proposed. The one I know of best is Gambia.
Thanks to the strong leadership of Gambia’s president, Yahya Jammeh, the Gambia is a highly developed, particularly in education, childhood immunization, and public health.
Jammeh’s administration is implementing two important projects in 2013, one of which is the Islamic Development Bank. If they put Henry in charge of the Central Bank, the two countries could do even more good development activities.
