Local Businesses will from next year be given some greater priority when it comes to public sector procurement.
The Public Procurement Authority is also decentralizing its operations to give more autonomy to the district and metropolitan assemblies.
The Authority is also reviewing the approval limits of procurement tender committees.
These provisions are contained in the Draft Amendments to the Procurement Act that was presented the finance minister for approval by parliament this year.
