MTN facilitates online trading

As part of efforts to improve the work of traders across the country, MTN Ghana, in collaboration with Ghanabuys.com, is exploring ways to get traders to sell their products online.

This is to give traders the opportunity to take advantage of the internet to facilitate their businesses through the use of cheap online communication to reduce cost.

At its first-ever interaction with representatives of Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) in Accra, officials of MTN Ghana and Ghanabuys.com educated traders on how they could use the internet to research and send invoices and quotation to save time and money.

Traders were also taught how to take advantage of video skyping and other business services from MTN.

The forum brought together executives and representatives of the various associations under GUTA, General Manager of MTN Business Solution, Eric Nsarkoah, General Manager for Procurement, Senior Manager Consumer Marketing Naana Amegashie and other top-level managers and staff of MTN.

The forum offered a unique platform for the two parties to address lingering issues bothering daily business activities.

Mrs. Amegashie facilitated the programme and responded to critical issues bothering on the operations of her organization.

The President of GUTA, George Ofori lauded MTN for the initiative, which he described as historical.

He also used the opportunity to assure MTN that the forum will help traders understand the operations of MTN so the Association will be better placed to contribute to its operations.

Other issues discussed at the forum included Network Quality & Expansion, Sales & Distribution, Capital injections, Marketing campaigns and opportunities, Customer service, Mobile money and MTN’s challenges with regard to fibre cuts.
