Accra bourse gains to reverse losses

Accra, March 31, GNA - The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, rose 12.43 points to close at 1,071.50 points from 1,059.07 points. The year-to-date now stands at 7.15 per cent. The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also gained 16.54 points to 1,053.91 points from 1,037.37 points with a year-to-date change of 5.39 per cent. There were six gainers during the session. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated gains GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.15, Ghana Commercial Bank was up GH¢0.05 to GH¢2.50 and HFC Bank Limited advanced GH¢0.02 to GH¢0.40. UT Bank gained GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.32, Total Ghana Limited added GH¢0.21 to GH¢15.82 and Standard Chartered Bank up GH¢0.02 to GH¢50.02. Market capitalisation closed the session marginally up at GH¢19,979.30 million cedis from GH¢19,856.90 million at the previous close. Some 3.3 million shares worth GH¢1.65 million were traded during the session.
