WBC names Barnor for an international bout in Algeria

Ghanaian boxing judge, Roger Barnor has been named by the World Boxing Council (WBC), as one of three judges to officiate in the Interim Welterweight Youth Championship, Djamel Dahour of Algeria and Daniel Valenzanel of Mexico, in Algeria on Saturday, December 13.

Barnor, is expected to leave the country, by close of Wednesday, ahead of the fight.

He said in an interview that, the opportunity given him was an honour done him and he will do his best to make the council proud.

“This is an honor for me and I will always thank the WBC for this kind gesture, I think that I have done well and that is why they have selected me for this assignment.

“It is indeed a privilege and I have to work hard when I get there, because boxing is not like football, boxing is a one man sport and you need to be technical to give your all if you are a judge or a referee, so for me am delighted to be among the referees,” he stated.
