Clottey Knocked Out in Seventh

Alex Trujillo defeated Emmanuel Clottey to seize the International Boxing Association (IBA) junior welterweight title and World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Featherweight Champion Joel Casamayor extended his unbeaten streak in an unanimous decision victory over Edwin Santana on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING from the Silver Star Hotel and Casino in Philadelphia, Miss.

Trujillo (21-0, 16 KOs), of San Juan, Puerto Rico, was impressive in his seventh-round knockout victory over Clottey (16-3, 12 KOs), of Accra, Ghana. The victory earned Trujillo the vacant International Boxing Association (IBA) junior welterweight title.

SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING's Steve Albert and former world champion Bobby Czyz called the action from ringside while Tim Smith served as roving reporter. The executive producer of the SHOWTIME telecast was Jay Larkin with Ray Smaltz producing and Bob Dunphy directing.
