Ghana's junior welterweight world title hopeful Ben Wonder Tackie returns to the ring next month in the United States to face American Teddy Reid in a non-title bout, after a short holiday in Accra.
The fight, slated for Tunica, Mississippi, on January 26, will be televised on American cable network ESPN2's Friday Night Fights.
Tackie has been cooling off in the country for nearly a month since losing a split decision to John-John Molina on the Lennox Lewis-David Tua undercard.
"He is training in Ghana and he will be back in the USA on January 1, where he will work with his trainer Joe Goossen," said Lou DeCubas, Tackie's manager.
Tackie 21-2 (13 ko's) is determined to learn from the loss says DeCubas. "He feels he lost to a great fighter and he was in-experienced. When you lose to a legend like John-John Molina, you do nothing but pick up experience.
"It was a great fight, it was great exposure for him and he got paid. He wasn't embarrassed. It was a close fight even though Molina won it. He is a young guy and if he goes out there and knocks out Teddy Reid 17-4-1 (12 KO's) on ESPN2 like I think he can do, he's back on top again."
